創作理念
作品打破平面媒材的框架，利用撕下的宣紙和水彩紙一層一層黏貼於畫布上，層層堆疊製造海浪的效果，最後再將白色紙張染色，營造海水的氛圍。透過黏貼能更強化畫面的立體感，不同的紙張和不同的黏貼方式，在畫面也營造出不同的視覺效果。
水方圓所要傳遞的是東方的思想「外圓內方」，有如為人處世的哲理，待人處事之道，水元素能承裝於任何不同的容器中，像水一樣柔軟大器，滋潤萬物。
Artistic Concept (Creative Statement)
This work breaks away from the limitations of traditional two-dimensional media. Layers of torn xuan paper and watercolor paper are meticulously pasted onto the canvas to create the effect of ocean waves. The process of layering adds a sense of depth, while the final step—dyeing the white paper—evokes the atmosphere of seawater. The use of collage not only enhances the three-dimensional quality of the piece but also allows different types of paper and application techniques to produce varied visual effects across the surface.
The concept of “Water: Square Within, Round Without” conveys an Eastern philosophical ideal. It reflects the wisdom of being both principled and adaptable in one's conduct—upright at the core, yet flexible on the outside. Like water that conforms to any vessel, it symbolizes gentleness and magnanimity, nurturing all things with grace.
創作コンセプト
本作品は、平面素材の枠を打ち破り、ちぎった宣紙や水彩紙を何層にも重ねてキャンバスに貼り付けることで、海の波を表現しています。層を重ねることで立体感を生み出し、最終的に白い紙を染めることで海水の雰囲気を演出しています。貼り重ねる技法によって画面の奥行きが強調され、異なる種類の紙や貼り方の違いによって、多様な視覚効果が生まれます。
「水方圓（すいほうえん）」が伝えたいのは、東洋の思想である「外は円く、内は方（まっすぐ）」という理念です。これは人としての在り方や処世術を表しており、水のようにどんな器にも順応しながらも、柔軟で寛大な心を持ち、万物を潤す存在でありたいという願いが込められています。
